magazine stories

What’s your story?

You may have been through a life-changing event, lost a loved one in terrible circumstances, recovered from an illness or had a miracle baby. Whatever your story, I'd love to hear from you.

Here are some examples...

Relationships – Was it love at first sight? Did he/she sweep you off your feet? Did you have a dream wedding, or did he dump you at the altar? Maybe you were happily married and he left, or had an affair?

Triumph-over-tragedy – Have you overcome an illness, lost a loved one in terrible circumstances, been involved in an accident and rebuilt your life? Maybe your partner dumped you and you found new love, or you overcame disability, whatever your circumstances, I'd love to hear from you.

True crime and murder – Have you or your family been the victim of a crime? Many people find it helps to talk about it. A story is a good way of remembering a lost loved one or warning other people so it doesn’t happen to them.

Revenge – Did your partner leave you for another woman/man? Do you want revenge? Name and shame them with a story!

Weight loss – Inspirational weight loss stories are always a favourite of mine! Maybe you had always been big or you put on weight suddenly, maybe you lost weight through extreme measures, like a gastric band, or with the support of friends at a slimming group, whatever your story I’d love to hear it!

Family reunion – Did you run away from home and then find your family again years later? Did you discover family members you didn’t know you had? Did you find a long, lost relative after years of looking?

Plastic surgery – Have you gone under the knife to dramatic effect? Did you go abroad for plastic surgery? Did it change your life for the better or did you regret it? Maybe you’re suffering after a botch job.

Illness and health – Have you recovered from a life-threatening or unusual illness? How did it affect you and your family? Was your child born with a medical condition? Have you had a miracle baby?

Funny or unusual – Have you found ancient human remains in your back garden? Maybe snails are eating your post, or you found a painting hidden in the loft and it made a fortune at auction? Do you or your partner have an unusual hobby or pastime that’s taking over your life?

Case studies wanted - Women's magazines and national newspapers are always on the look out for case studies to illustrate their stories. Sometimes they just want a few words from someone who has experienced a certain situation themselves, for example a family struggling to cope on a low income, someone who decided to have a large family or no children at all, a couple in a mixed race marriage, someone with strong views on any subject. If you would like to be considered as a case study, please fill out the form on the Contact Us page.
